Dacon AS is a Norwegian SME established in 1979. It has four main Departments operating in Europe and the Far East.
- NDT Inspection and underwater NDT Inspection, marinisation of NDT equipment
- Inspection equipment sales
- Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) including underwater cameras
- Maritime rescue equipment
Dacon are experts in underwater NDT and will lead the marinisation of the sub-sea NDT equipment sensors and robotic manipulators associated with WPs 2, 3, 4 and 5. They will also be involved with the underwater validation trials on the data link used for the three applied NDT techniques, WP-6.
Dacon are a leading subsea service NDT and inspection company and have been involved in offshore NDT and inspection work including underwater work since its inception in 1979. Underwater NDT and inspections are mainly based on ultrasonic and eddy current techniques using marinised equipment. The company also carries out diver-based video and photographic work for the major North Sea operators. Dacons key senior management personnel are Mr. Børre (Technical Director) and Mr. A Børretzen (Managing Director).
